Evidence-Based Therapy for Real Change
Hi, I’m Aly! A licensed therapist who absolutely loves being a therapist. Seriously? Yes, seriously! I l always look forward to a Monday, and deeply care about each person I have the honor to work with.
My approach to therapy is authentic to who I am as a person - warm and empathetic but equally honest and direct. You won’t be talking to a nodding head saying little more than “…and how does that make you feel?” because I know that most people come to therapy wanting not just a listening ear, but to gain insight, connect dots, learn coping skills, change their mindset, and ultimately transform into the person they have dreamed of being…so, that requires me not only to be a validating listener, but an active presence in the therapy space.
And truly, I want therapy to be “fun” for you, so even when you have big emotions or are talking about hard things, you can look forward to coming to session each time.
Something a little personal, but in the therapy space, often relatable: I am a late-diagnosed ADHD girlie (though, looking back a million signs were there). I have the “combined-type”, meaning both hyperactive and inattentive presenting symptoms. After a few different therapists I knew both personally and professionally over the years suggested that my anxiety was really just symptoms of ADHD, one day I thought “hmmm, there is probably something to that”. I realized that it was time to do a full psych assessment to really be sure, and after hours of testing, when the psychologist said “you definitely have ADHD”, most of my best and worst qualities suddenly made sense to me. Since then, I have learned to (mostly) use my ADHD as a superpower, I have learned to work with my brain rather than against it, and I love to teach my fellow ADHD clients to do the same. And while ADHD has in some ways become an unfortunate "trend" online (thank you, TikTok!), those of us who genuinely live with this form of neurodivergence sometimes find ourselves frustrated, asking, "why wasn't I born normal?!” - but, I am here to help you no longer live in that state of mind (whether you have ADHD or not) - teaching you to learn to love the brain you have been given and find the strengths YOU innately have within you to make life easier and more enjoyable.
Another thing about me? I practice what I teach. I always strive to be a role model for my clients/patients, and what better way than to “walk the walk” in my own life? I love to learn, read, experiment, and implement all things personal development while also mixing in play, fun, and relaxation for a healthy balance in my own life (still a work in progress on this, I love me some productivity!)
My approach to therapy?
I combine both cognitive and emotional frameworks, helping individuals better understand their thoughts, process their emotions, and create meaningful change in their daily lives. I emphasize empowerment: supporting people in building a stronger sense of control over their mind, emotions, and overall well-being.
My goal is to help you feel more confident, emotionally regulated, and at peace in your day-to-day life. I am here to hold the space for you to grow into the next-level version of you!
I exclusively work virtually, offering both Talk Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Intensives.
NOTE: My clinical services are limited to California residents due to licensing requirements.
NOTE: There is currently a waitlist for talk therapy, I am only accepting ART intensives patients at the moment.
